Sa, Kong Il
Chairman/Institute for Global Economics

Dr. SaKong is the founder and Chairman & CEO of the Institute for Global Economics (IGE), a private non-profit research institute based in Seoul since 1993. He also serves as advisor to the JoongAng Media Group. 
In the 1980s, he served in the government of the Republic of Korea as Minister of Finance (1987-88), Senior Secretary to the President for Economic Affairs (1983-87), Senior Counselor to the Minister of Economic Planning Board (1982) and Senior Economist of the Council on Economic & Scientific Affairs for the President (1979-80).
More recently, Dr. SaKong, as the Chairman of the Presidential Committee for the G20 Summit, led the Korean government’s endeavor for the Seoul G20 Summit in 2010. 
Dr. SaKong also served as Special Economic Adviser to the President from March 2008 to April 2009 and headed the Presidential Council on National Competitiveness from March 2008 to January 2009. The Council had the primary objective of enhancing Korea’s national competitiveness and economic growth potential through necessary structural adjustments. During 2000-02, he served the Korean government as Ambassador for International Economy and Trade. Previously, he spent nearly 10 years (1973-82) at the Korea Development Institute (KDI) which is the leading economic think tank for the Korean government. He was President of the Korea Institute for Industrial Economics & Trade (KIET), another leading national economic think tank in Korea (1982).
He has received various honors and prizes, including the Korean government's highest Order of Public Service Merit, “Blue Stripes (1990)", the Korean government's highest Order of Civil Merit, “Mugunghwa Medal” (2012) and the 2nd highest order of Civil Merit, “Moran Medal” (1983), the Republic of China's Order of the Brilliant Star with Grand Cordon (1987), the Kingdom of Belgium's Order of the Crown (1986), Korea University's Grand Prize for Distinguished Policy Makers (2002) and the Korean Association of Translators & Interpreters’ Speaker of the Year Award (2009). 
Dr. SaKong graduated from Seoul National University (1964) and received his MBA (1966) and Ph.D. (1969) from the University of California at Los Angeles. He taught economics at New York University (1969-73) and Sheffield University (1971-72).
 
 
Hung Q. Tran
Executive Managing Director/The Institute of International Finance (IIF)

Hung Q. Tran is the Executive Managing Director of the Institute of International Finance (IIF), assisting in the overall management of the IIF while also leading the Capital Markets and Emerging Markets Policy Department. Prior to his work at the IIF, Mr. Tran served for six years at the International Monetary Fund as Deputy Director, Monetary and Capital Markets Department, where his responsibilities included the overall management of the Fund's semi-annual Global Financial Stability Report. He also served from 1998 to 2001 in London as the Managing Director, Chief Economist/Global Head of Research for Rabobank International. 
He had spent the prior 12 years with Deutsche Bank with assignments in New York, Frankfurt and Singapore including serving as Director of Global Fixed Income Research from 1987-1990 and as Co-Founding Managing Director of Deutsche Bank Research from 1991-1995 and as Head of Equity Business for the Deutsche Bank Group in Asia-Pacific (1995-1998). Earlier in his career he had worked in international fixed income research for Merrill Lynch and Salomon Brothers in New York. Mr. Tran received his undergraduate and graduate degrees in Economics from California State University and completed the doctoral program in Economics at New York University.
 
 
Jianhua Gang
Associate professor/Renmin University of China

Jianhua Gang is an associate professor in finance at Renmin University of China. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of York, and is now the deputy director of the finance faculty in the School of Finance. He is also the executive director of the Institute of Finance and Real Estate (IFRE) at Renmin University of China. His research interests include financial econometrics, financial markets, real estate finance, and volatility analysis. His recent working papers cover topics related to global capital flow, foreign exchange rates, financial asset pricing, systemic risk measurement, and social network analysis.

Hong, Wan Sun

Mr. Hong is a Chief Investment Officer of National Pension Fund (NPF) of Korea, the world’s fourth largest pension fund with AUM 427trillion KRW as the end of 2013. Based in Seoul, he is responsible for enhancing investment performance in Korea and abroad by leading a team of professionals in Seoul, London and New York. Prior to joining NPF in 2013, he had worked for Hana Financial Group, one of the leading financial groups in Korea for 30 years since 1983. With many years of executive level of experience in the financial industry, he has outstanding track record in specialized areas such as Asset management, Securities, Wholesale Marketing, International Finance and Trust Business. 
Mr. Hong achieved a record of high result as a President of Treasury Group at Hana Bank. He oversaw more than 100 professionals delivering a full arrays of Securities Investment & Trading, Derivatives Trading & Sales and KRW/FX Funding as a Deputy President of Hana Bank from 2010 to 2012. He managed all institutional clients through Wholesale Group Division within HFG matrix system which supported Hana Bank in withstanding financial crisis in 2008 as a Deputy President of Wholesale Unit in Hana Daetoo Securities from 2007 to 2010. Last but not the least, he led Trust Business Division to play a vital role in sustainable growth of Hana Bank and its business.

Eddy Schipper

Eddy joined IFM Investors (“IFM”) as Executive Director in October 2008. At IFM Investors, Eddy is responsible for global investor relations and business development.
Eddy has extensive experience in business development and prior to his appointment at IFM Investors, he was Head of Institutional Business Development, Colonial First State Global Asset Management. His main responsibilities were business development, deal origination across the institutional market and developing institutional sales and asset consultant relationships in Australia and New Zealand. Kwang Il Kim is a Partner based in Seoul. Prior to MBK Partners, Mr. Kim was a Partner and Senior M&A Lawyer at the law offices of Kim & Chang, based in Seoul. Before Kim & Chang, Mr. Kim worked as a Certified Public Accountant at Samil PricewaterhouseCoopers in Seoul. Dr. Park is a Professor of Finance and Director of CAPM(Center for Asset and Pension Management) at Sungkyunkwan University(SKKU), a renowned private university in Korea. Dr. Park currently serves as a member of Special Committee on NPS Performance Evaluation and Rewards. He is also a member of various committees of Financial Service Commissions and Financial Supervisory Services

His main research interests include investments, fund management, and international finance and he has published a number of books and papers in these fields. He is vice president of Korea Securities Association and sits as a board member or an editorial committee member of many other academic associations and their journals. 

Besides his work in academia, Dr. Park has been active consultant in the public and private sector. He has worked as a local consultant for World Bank, an outside director of Samsung Asset Management and Midas Asset Management, and a project consultant for Korea Ministry of Planning and Budget, Korea Securities Dealers Association, and Korea Asset Management Association among others. 

Dr. Park holds his B.A., MBA, and Ph.D. from University of Minnesota, Columbia University, and George Washington University.

Park, Min Ho
Head, Asset Management Division /Teachers’ Pension

Min Ho Park is head of Asset Management Division(CIO) at Teachers Pension (TP).
Mr. Min Ho Park has been in finance industry for more than two decades as an economist, analyst and strategist. He joined Teachers’ Pension in July 2001 as a strategist and he has led the Investment Strategy Team since 2008. And in year 2013, he was promoted to lead the Asset Management Division(CIO).
With his extensive background as an economist, analyst and strategist, he was the cornerstone to incorporate ALM in to TP’s asset allocation strategy. Moreover, Mr. Park has been successful on transforming TP’s conservative investment profile to more return oriented one.
Before joining TP, Mr. Park was a senior researcher at Jangeun Securities and Hana Economic Research Institute. And Head of Equity Research at Kyobo Securities. Mr. Park received a BA in Economics from Seoul National University.
