Julien Le Noble
Senior Managing Director/Asia Pacific, CME Group

Julien Le Noble serves as Senior Managing Director, Asia Pacific, of CME Group. Based in Singapore, he is responsible for leading CME Group’s initiatives to expand its presence in the region, including its partnerships with regional exchanges, delivering a growth strategy and developing benchmark products and services to meet the needs of current and prospective clients. 
Before joining CME Group in August 2011, Le Noble served as CEO and Representative Director, Japan and Head of Equities, Asia Pacific for Newedge, where he led the firm’s Japanese business development and sales efforts for its Tokyo-based subsidiary. Following the 2008 merger of Fimat and Calyon, which formed Newedge, Le Noble led the firm’s merger integration effort in Japan. Prior to the formation of Newedge, Le Noble served in executive roles for Fimat, first as Managing Director, Singapore from 2002 to 2006 and as Managing Director, Japan and Head of Commodities, Asia Pacific from 2006 to 2008. Le Noble began his career in Chicago with Fimat Group in 1995, where he held leadership roles until 2000, as well as in London with Boursorama (now Selftrade), a European retail online bank broker that is part of Societe Generale, from 2000 to 2002. 
Le Noble earned a master’s degree in economics at Universite de Nice and a post- graduate business degree from the Ecole Supérieure de Commerce de Toulouse. He is a Certified Public Accountant and has served as a board member, member of the executive committee and chair of the financial instrument committee of FIA Japan, as well as a member of the FIA Asia Risk Management Committee and Advisory Committee. He also has been a member of the International Banking Association in Japan

Masahiro Kawai

Dr. Kawai began his career as a Research Fellow at the Brookings Institution and then as an Associate Professor in the department of political economy, The Johns Hopkins University. Afterwards, he served as a Professor of economics at the Institute of Social Science, University of Tokyo. He also worked as Chief Economist for the World Bank's East Asia and the Pacific Region from 1998 to 2001, as Deputy Vice Minister of Finance for International Affairs of Japan's Ministry of Finance from 2001 to 2003, and as President of the Policy Research Institute of Japan's Finance Ministry in 2003. He became Special Advisor to the Asian Development Bank (ADB) President in charge of regional economic cooperation and integration in 2005 and Dean and CEO of the Asian Development Bank Institute (ADBI) from 2007 to 2014.

Dr. Gil-nam Nam is the head of derivatives of Korea Capital Market Institute (KCMI). His research areas are derivatives and structured products. He has consulted governments, firms and financial institutions on derivatives market related issues over many years. Prior to joining KCMI, he was a general manager at KIS PRICING INC (KIS). He was responsible for pricing OTC derivatives in KIS. He holds a Ph.D. in Statistics from Seoul National University.

Young-Do Kim

Prior to joining the KIF, he received his M.A. and Ph.D. in Economics from University of California, San Diego (UCSD). He also earned an M.A. in Finance and a B.A. in Economics from Korea University.


Dr. Young Do Kim has been a Research Fellow in the Capital Markets Division of the Korea Institute of Finance (KIF) since 2007. His expertise lies in economic and institutional issues pertaining to domestic financial markets. Dr. Kim also serves on several task forces and committee dealing with capital market and funds market issues with government and financial industry. Also, he is currently an outside director for the KRX. His current research is focused on financial market and products issues, risk management and financial supervisory issues, asset pricing, portfolio theory, econometric theory. Dr. Kim has authored and co-authored numerous papers, reports and books, including "Policy Implications for ETF markets" (2011).

Georges Sudarskis
Former CIO/Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (UAE)

Georges Sudarskis is the founder and CEO of an investment advisory firm, Sudarskis & Partners, which exclusively focuses on providing investment management solutions and capacity building to Sovereign Wealth Funds. Sudarskis & Partners also introduce and implement innovative financing mechanisms for multilateral institutions and government bodies.

Georges Sudarskis is the former Chief Investment Officer and Head of the Private Equities Department of the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA). ADIA is one of the largest and oldest sovereign wealth funds in the world. For over ten years until December 2008, Georges was responsible for the Private Equity portfolio of ADIA and for the team that constructs and monitors this portfolio. 

As the founder and principal promoter of these private equity activities within ADIA, Georges helped architect and build the relationships to bring the portfolio in its present status. He trained most of the staff and hired the rest of the team over the past ten years, making this group of people one of the most stable in the industry.

The ADIA portfolio reaches out to all regions in the world, and all stages of investment, from early-stage venture to buy-out and distressed strategies, and includes an active and rewarding co-investment program and a secondaries activity as well. The relationships of the Private Equity Department of ADIA around the world, both with private equity firms and with other investors in the asset class, form a deep network of knowledge, friendship, reciprocity and support.

Before joining ADIA in March 1998, Georges had close to 25 years of general management and investment experience.

Georges began his career in Canada as a venture capital analyst. He later became a consultant with Arthur Andersen & Co. Georges next embraced a professional career in investment advisory and investment banking, first with Morgan Guaranty Trust Co. of N.Y., then with the largest French law firm, FIDAL, where he spent 10 years as an M&A lawyer, after that with ING Bank where he was Head of Mergers and Acquisitions. He most lately held the position of Managing Director of Clinvest, the merchant banking arm of Credit Lyonnais.

Georges holds an MBA from the McGill University Faculty of Management (1974), and received a Bachelor degree in 1972 from Ecole Superieure de Commerce de Paris. He also qualified as a lawyer of the Paris Bar. Georges has co-authored a reference book on legal and business due diligence for legal practitioners. He has served on the Advisory Boards of several private equity funds, including Blackstone, Charterhouse, Welsh, Carson, Anderson & Stowe, Clayton Dubilier & Rice, E.M. Warburg Pincus, Advent International, Carlyle, Industri Kapital, CVC…

Georges Sudarskis is a Director of an alternative asset management company, the French secondaries specialist FONDINVEST S.A., supervised by the “Autorité des Marchés Financiers” and a Director of the family office of a Chinese entrepreneur.
 
 
Wan-Sun Hong
CIO/National Pension Service Fund of Korea

Mr. Hong is a Chief Investment Officer of National Pension Fund (NPF) of Korea, the world’s fourth largest pension fund with AUM 427trillion KRW as the end of 2013. Based in Seoul, he is responsible for enhancing investment performance in Korea and abroad by leading a team of professionals in Seoul, London and New York. Prior to joining NPF in 2013, he had worked for Hana Financial Group, one of the leading financial groups in Korea for 30 years since 1983. With many years of executive level of experience in the financial industry, he has outstanding track record in specialized areas such as Asset management, Securities, Wholesale Marketing, International Finance and Trust Business. 
Mr. Hong achieved a record of high result as a President of Treasury Group at Hana Bank. He oversaw more than 100 professionals delivering a full arrays of Securities Investment & Trading, Derivatives Trading & Sales and KRW/FX Funding as a Deputy President of Hana Bank from 2010 to 2012. He managed all institutional clients through Wholesale Group Division within HFG matrix system which supported Hana Bank in withstanding financial crisis in 2008 as a Deputy President of Wholesale Unit in Hana Daetoo Securities from 2007 to 2010. Last but not the least, he led Trust Business Division to play a vital role in sustainable growth of Hana Bank and its business.
 
 
Jae-Woo Lee

Jae Woo Lee is co-founder of Vogo Investment (‘Vogo’) in 2005, and has extensive experience in all aspects of the financial service sectors in Korea including commercial banking, investment banking and principal investments. 

Prior to co-founding Vogo, Mr. Lee served as the Country CEO of Lehman Brothers Korea where he architected the significant build up of its Korean operation. Mr. Lee also spearheaded numerous principal investments during his experience with H&Q Asia Pacific and Lehman Brothers. He served on numerous boards of directors of Korean companies in various industry sectors such as finance, IT, and consumer products manufacturing and distribution. Robert Ferguson
Chief Executive/Benchmark Plus, USA

Robert brings 30+ years of investment management and financial futures trading to his role as Chief Investment Officer for Benchmark Plus. Prior to co-founding Benchmark Plus, in 1993 he co-founded Ferguson Bakken Strategies, Inc., an investment advisor to high net worth clients specializing in closed end fund arbitrage. Prior to that, Robert served as Director, Pension Fund Investments for the Weyerhaeuser Company, where he shared responsibility for managing the investments of the firm’s pension fund, with AUM of approximately $1 billion. He was a key contributor to the creation and implementation of the pension funds investment architecture, manager selection as well as being responsible for performance measurement. In addition, he was responsible for management of the pension fund’s derivative portfolio. Prior to that, Robert spent 3 ½ years as a systems analyst for Weyerhaeuser.

Robert earned a BS of Science from Oregon State University and an MBA from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. Robert also holds the Chartered Financial Analyst Designation.
 
 
Chung-Keun Kim
Director, Private Equity Team/Korea Investment Corporation (KIC)

Mr. Chung Keun Kim recently has been re-assigned to work for Private Equity. Right before the re-assignment, with the new management’s initiatives, he had worked on setting up the Industry Research Group of KIC and been heading up the Alternative Investment Research within the Industry Research Group. His main sector responsibility was Real Estate and Infrastructure.
He joined KIC in 2010 as Alternative Investments manager covering private equity, real estate and infrastructure. He had been one of the original members building up the global alternative investment platform within KIC. He mainly invested and managed over U$ 2 billion real estate and infrastructure portfolio around the globe.
His working experiences have been extensively in international business of cross-border investments and international finance over 14 years. Prior to KIC, he led the Global Real Estate Acquisition Team as a frontier force for Mirae Asset Global Investments’ global real estate acquisition and also worked as an acquisition manager at a North East Asia region focused real estate private equity firm, Asia Pacific Land. He started out his career as an international banker at KorAm Bank, currently Citigroup, Korea.

Young-Mok Yoon
Head, Alternative Investment Division/National Pension Service

Young-Mok Yoon is currently in charge of alternative investment division in National Pension Service in Korea. During the years' service at NPS since 2001, his functional role includes head of equity research, head of portfolio management both in debt and equity and head of investment strategy division. From 1995 to 2001, he worked as equity analyst at Daewoo Securities and Sejong Securities. At the first part of his career back in 1992 to 1995, he served as in-house economist at Daewoo Economic Research Institute. He graduated Yonsei University, College of business and economics, and has majored in business administration. He has also completed the MBA at Yonsei.
