Busan Financial News marks its 4thanniversary this year and as the only daily economic newspaper

in the region, it has endeavored to contribute to promote Busan city as the hub of international finance.

 

Furthermore, we have shared commonground with the efforts of Busan City, which strives to advance

Busan as the city of the world by holding quality international forums and conferences.

 

The global financial risk triggered by the 2008 sub-prime mortgage crisis has crashed the trading volume

by 10% and the world economy is experiencing an unprecedented long-term recession. Korea also

is experiencing a 2% slow growth trend along with a decrease in both imports and exports. Busan is

a marine and financial city, and is facing a dire situation with the reduced port volume, which caused

by the receivership of Hanjin Shipping, Korea's largest shipping company; following a depression

in the shipbuilding and equipment industry.

 

With this in mind, Busan Financial News is holding a global financial forum with the thematic focus on

'Turing the Economic Crisis in the Busan-Ulsan-Gyeongnam area into an Opportunity '. In the morning

session, we will review a financial role to accomplish a resurrection of the marine and shipbuilding

industry under the title of 'A breakthrough for the marine industry at risk". In the afternoon session,

we will explore the "Measures for developing regional finance and the vision for the economy of the

"Busan-Ulsan-Gyeongnam area", including Fin Tech, a topic in the world financial industry. We look

forward to heated debates between domestic and foreign scholars, and leading experts.

 

Financial News, the parent company of Busan Financial News, was founded in 2000. It has since been
