Mark Yeandle Associate Director/Z/Yen Group
Mark has an MBA from Cass Business School where he specialised in Corporate Finance, Economics and International Marketing. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing. Prior to joining Z/Yen Mark held board-level marketing management positions at companies including Liberty, Mulberry and Carlton. Mark has also helped project manage four successful company turnarounds. His experience includes company acquisitions & disposals and major change management programmes.
Mark Yeandle is the lead author and co-creator of the Global Financial Centres Index (GFCI). The GFCI has been published every six months since March 2007 and Mark has been the project manager and lead author of the GFCI since its inception. As a result of his research into what makes financial centres competitive, Mark is regularly interviewed on international television and radio and has spoken at many international conferences in centres such as Bogotá, Busan, Casablanca, Cayman Islands, Edinburgh, Istanbul, London, Montreal, Moscow, Seoul, and Shenzhen.
Mark has conducted in depth research studies into all the centres mentioned above and others including Casablanca, Copenhagen, Doha, Dubai, Guernsey, Jersey, Shanghai and Toronto.
A central theme in Mark’s career has been quantitative and economic analysis. He has strong experience of using support vector machine mathematics to enhance efficiency in both the finance and the not-for-profit sectors. Mark has been involved in many of Z/Yen’s recent projects including managing an Anti-Money Laundering research project and research into Best Execution Compliance Automation. Yang, Jiewen Head, RMB Business Division/Bank of China(Hong Kong) Limited
Jiewen Jack Yang is the Division Head of RMB Business Division at Economics & Strategic Planning Department of Bank of China (Hong Kong) Limited. He is mainly responsible for the development of the bank’s overall RMB business, including policy research, formulation and enforcement of RMB strategy, and project management of key initiatives in RMB to best capture opportunities arising from the RMB internationalization for the bank.
Jack is the key member of the bank’s RMB team since he first joined the bank in 2002. With extensive knowledge and strong experience in RMB business, Jack has been heavily involved in the bank’s RMB initiatives in the past 13 years.
Jack was the Head of Product and Business Development and responsible for the formulation and enforcement of the bank’s overall product and business strategies. Jack is an experienced project manager with solid experience in leading a number of key projects, namely RMB Clearing Bank, CNY RTGS, QDII, cross-border payment system linkage, the Hong Kong – Shanghai Stock Connect, and most recently, Shanghai – Hong Kong Gold Connect and the Issuance of RMB Panda bonds in the China interbank bond market.
Jack graduated from School of Management of University of East Angelia, United Kingdom with a Master of Sciences degree in Management Information Systems and from Shenzhen University in Shenzhen, China with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting.

Lee, Ki Hwan Professor/Korea Maritime and Ocean University
Dr. Ki Hwan Lee is currently a professor of corporate finance at Department of Shipping Management, Korea Maritime and Ocean University in Busan, Korea. He is also the director of Global Ship Finance Expert Training Program funded by Ministry of Ocean and Fishery Affairs and Korea Shipowners’ Association. He serves as an outside director of KT Submarine Co. and an outside auditor of APEC Climate Center. He served as the dean of academic affairs and the dean of College of International Studies at KMOU. Before joining KMOU in 1995, he also worked for Korea Development Institute form 1982 to 1994. He also served as a member of Management Evaluation Committee of public enterprises between 2003 and 2010. In addition, he has served as a member of several committees of Busan Metropolitan City Government since 1996. He was a president of Korea Association of Financial Engineering and has also served as a director or an editor of several finance related academic associations since 1996.
He received his Ph.D. from Manchester Business School, University of Manchester in 1993.
His recent research areas include ship finance, IPOs, venture capital and entrepreneurship. In particular, he published many papers on the performance of venture capital-backed IPOs in the journals such as the Korean Management Review, Korea Venture Management Review, Korean Journal of Financial Management. He is recently focusing on ship finance research.

Kim, Chang Soo Professor/Busan University
Professor Kim received his PhD in economics from Rutgers University in the U.S. He has been a professor of international economics at Pusan National University since 1992. He served PNU as Dean of Graduate School of International Studies, Dean of Continuing Education, Dean of PNU International and at other capacities. He also served Korea Association of International Trade and Commerce as President for two years. He created and led PNU’s Busan Center for International Finance as Director from 2009 until recently. | |
